Refugees Need Housing

We have great news, and we need your help! Refugees are arriving again, but finding housing is a challenge. Do you know of any available rental properties? We are looking for entire homes or apartments, not rooms within family homes. If you are reaching out to offer a room in your home, we so appreciate your generosity, but we are unable to place people in a room in a private home. The best houses or apartments for new refugee arrivals fit the following criteria:

  • 1, 2, or 3 bedrooms (the majority of our families need two bedrooms at least)

  • Monthly rent under $1600 for a 3 bedroom apartment

  • Within 50 miles of the Phoenix or Tucson LSS-SW office (2502 E. University Dr., Phoenix, AZ 85034 or 3364 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ 85716)

  • Walking distance to a major bus line and grocery store

Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest can help refugees with rent for at least the first 90 days after a family arrives, and we work with families to reach self-sufficiency by finding adequate employment within the first 3-6 months of their arrival. Learn more about refugee resettlement here.

Most refugees have been living in a refugee camp for 10 years or more before coming to the United States. Will you help us make sure that they get a safe, comfortable home in Arizona after years of waiting?

If you have a place in mind, please fill out the form below. A member of our staff will reach out to you shortly for more information.
